Using Sibutramine
Introduction
Sibutramine is one of the leading modern drugs for the reduction of excess body weight and is particularly recommended for anyone who is obese, to help them reduce their weight. Using Sibutramine is simplicity itself as it is prescribed in an easy to take tablet form, with typically one Sibutramine tablet being taken orally with a small amount of water once a day.
How to use Sibutramine
Whilst taking Sibutramine is simple enough it is essential that users of this dieting pill do not exceed the recommended dose nor that they should reduce, or miss, taking the prescribed dosage. In the case of exceeding the recommended dose, being a weight reduction pill it does carry with it a risk of dependency being a habit forming substance. When taken in the recommended dosage by your physician, and for the period of time recommended by your physician, this should not be a problem. However, the same as for any medication you must always follow the Doctor’s advice. Whilst anyone might occasionally and inadvertently forget to take their medication, regularly skipping the medication or reducing the dosage should also be avoided. Your physician has prescribed a certain quantity of Sibutramine suitable to your weight and overall health, if you do not take the prescribed quantity you will not be able to lose the amount of weight that you need to in order to avoid other health related problems that will arise from your obesity/over-weightness.
Basic precautions before embarking on a course of Sibutramine
Although Sibutramine is freely available over the internet you really should only take this medication following a consultation with your medical Doctor. Over-weight, and obese people especially, often have other medical problems arising form the excess weight that they are carrying. Diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, liver and kidney problems being the most common. Having any such conditions will not exclude you from being able to benefit from taking Sibutramine, but the doctor will be able to take all of your medical history into account when determining the best dosage of Sibutramine to give you in order to reduce, if not eliminate, any of the side-effects of this drug. Common side effects of Sibutramine include sleeping difficulties, dry mouth, constipation and possibly headaches. Remedies for all of these can quickly be prescribed by your Doctor or obtained from your local pharmacy; needless to say the onset of headaches after taking Sibutramine should prompt you to revisit your Doctor as quickly as possible. Other than that, if you drink alcohol whilst taking Sibutramine only drink it in moderation and if you are pregnant, or a nursing mother, you are recommended not to start a course of Sibutramine until your condition has changed.
Taking other medications with Sibutramine
When consulting with your Doctor about using Sibutramine do explain to them what other medications you take, whether they are prescription ones or ones that you buy over the counter at a local store. This is particularly important in the case of other weight loss preparations you might be using, anti-depressants, pain killers and decongestants. This information will be used by your doctor to ensure that by taking Sibutramine you won’t be putting yourself at an undue risk of developing any of the side-effects. If you were to be taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAO), such as Lithium, your Doctor will almost certainly insist that there is a two week interval between stopping using the MAO inhibitor and beginning the course of Sibutramine.
Helping the Sibutramine to work
A typical prescription for Sibutramine will last for four to six weeks. Sibutramine should be seen as a ‘kick-start’ to your weight loss program, not something that will magically shed all those excess pounds for you. At the same time as starting the course of Sibutramine pills you will have been advised about the diet you should follow and the exercise you need to take. The Sibutramine will prepare your body to cope with this new diet and exercise regime – which is really the only way that you can not only lose your excess weight, but make sure that once the diet pills are finished you don’t immediately pile all the weight back on.
